NY Post: Pro-mosque Mike KOs compromise

by Editors on August 25, 2010

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave remarks last night at an Iftar dinner he hosted at Gracie Mansion, with Daisy Khan, wife of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and Ground Zero mosque developer Sharif el-Gamal in attendance. In part, Bloomberg said this:

“If we say that a mosque and community center should not be built near the perimeter of the World Trade Center site … we would undercut the values and principles that so many heroes died protecting. We would send a signal around the world that Muslim-Americans may be equal in the eyes of the law, but separate in the eyes of their countrymen. And we would hand a valuable propaganda tool to terrorist recruiters who spread the fallacy that America is at war with Islam.”

Imam Rauf, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the rest of the Islamists advocate for discrimination; they all work to impose sharia law here in America. We should send a couple of signals. First, America will not tolerate a mosque and “cultural center” being built overlooking where like-minded Muslims slaughtered 2,752 people. And we will never incorporate discriminatory sharia law into our rule of law.

Just for the record: the heroes of 9/11 died saving lives, not “values and principles.” In addition, it was Mayor Bloomberg who separated Muslims from Americans by calling them “Muslim-Americans.” Have you ever heard anyone call Baptists “Baptist-Americans” or Episcopalians “Episcopalian-Americans?”

This is an insult to all 911 families. Please “stop the mosque”.

Editor —

The source of this commenter’s list is the Islamic Society of North America, aka the ISNA and ICNA, which was spawned by the Muslim Brotherhood. Under both aliases, that organization was an un-indicated co-conspirator in the successful 2008 federal prosecution of five leaders of the Holy Land Foundation for transferring more than $12 million to terrorist organization Hamas. This list was first posted by the ISNA in October 2001, fully three weeks after 9/11 and when the toll of the unaccounted for and known dead had been narrowed to about 3,100.

Moreover, not only is Big B’s list not “several hundred” names long, at least half of those listed by the ISNA turned out to be completely fictitious names. (Just a cursory examination of this list below illustrates our point.) Of those listed below, 27 match those on the official casualty list (and 3 more names are similar to those named on the official list). Yet only a few families have identified the person they lost as a Muslim and several of them have announced they oppose the mosque planned for Park Place.

How insulting it is that anyone would, nearly nine years after 9/11, copy and paste the propaganda of the terrorist organization that also fathered al Qaeda, i.e. the Muslim Brotherhood, as compiled by a terror-financing organization, i.e. the ISNA? We are letting this comment post only to show how desperate those who support a sharia mosque and “cultural center” at Ground Zero have become. Shame on you Big B.

To say that the proposed mosque is an “insult to all 911 families” is an overstatement at best. A substantial number of those killed on 9/11 were single, with no immediate family at all. [Editor -- At the risk of sounding pithy, everyone is born with a father and mother.]

Moreover, several hundred of those killed were Muslim. (See below list.)

It is a defeatism of reason to propose that an attack perpetrated by a very small group of militant radicals, carrying out some perverted vision purportedly based on a fundamentalist, extremist view of one sect within the contemporary practice of the Islam religion, somehow represents and speaks for the entirety of the faith of Islam.

Muslims killed at ground-zero on 9-11 [Editor -- Among the 27 people listed below that were actual casualties, several were killed at the Pentagon and one was killed aboard Flight 93]:

This is an abomination. The families of 9/11, NYFD, NYPD, and all those who have sufffered the horrors and shown such brave American spirit should have precedence over ANYONE else.

I.m a Brit and I have grown up in Britain and seen what happens when people from the muslim faith move in, it starts of with one house, then two, three, four , five, the values of the property decreases, people who have lived there all their lives leave. Soon not only the street but the whole community becomes muslim to the point that it is a no go area for non muslims. Believe me the people of the muslim faith are the most intolerant people of faith on this planet, try building a church in Saudi Arabia it will never happen but they want to put their mosque on hallowed ground good luck America facing these muslims because you are going to need it!

Does anyone here care that the man building this community center was fighting Islamic extremism long before 911 or that he has worked closely with the FBI, CIA, and homeland security to fight Islamic terrorism around the world? If there is one Muslem group in the world we should be supporting this is the one. They are very liberal even by American standards much less muslem and they have actively helped our side in the struggle. Sorry Newt, Sarah and Bill. You are wrong on this one and your behavior is calling everything you claim to stand for into question.

Editor — Imam Rauf has promoted Islamic extremism for all of his career, he has never fought it. You need to stop misapplying liberal and conservative labels to him. Imam Rauf is for implementing discriminatory sharia law here; are you for discrimination?

You took a big leap up in my opinion when you let my post stand.

But, I am going to have to take the FBI and Homeland Securities word over yours. And politically liberal or concervative is not applicable, you are right about that. I mean liberal in the religous sense. IE don’t follow the literal words in the book, follow what you see as the spirit behind them. That’s the liberal position in every religion. In this case he has said publicly and repeatedly that American law is the closest thing to his interpritation of Sharia on earth today. You don’t get any more liberal than that in the theological sense of the word.

Now if you would answer a question for me. If he is a radical Muslem why does he have promenent Jewish groups supporting him? They aren’t exactly fans of radical Islam and they generally are nobodys fool.

Editor — Gee, Rob, we’d take the word of the FBI over almost everyone else’s word as well. So, read it and weep, the FBI’s opinion of CAIR, the latter being Imam Rauf’s supporters.
